We are going to take you through what we do with customer's bikes from start to finish.
Prepping to pull the motor.
Finished prepping and pulled the motor. Tomorrow is the start of the motor tear down.
Got the top of the motor done. We have to do a few things, including removing the upper case bolts and flip the motor over. About a half hour there and we will be splitting the case. Tomorrow we will have the crank out and everything else on the table.
Today we finished tearing down the motor. We inspected stuff and it looks great for 80k miles. Crank and rod bearings show wear, but no issues at all. In the case and the oil pan there is no sign of any metal. I am really impressed on this engine at this mileage. Next is to make a huge order of parts, as we are replacing every hose, whether it is vacuum or radiator as well as other things.
Today was about cleaning the case and looking at the valves. Problem found for oil burning. Valve seals.
Working on the valves
Starting to reassemble bottom end of the motor.
New oil pump
New rod bearings
New crank bearings
New crank balance shaft bearing
Back cut transmission.
Today we got the rings on the pistons, pistons installed as well as the jugs. Also, worked on the smaller stuff like the generator, clutch basket as well as the gear shifting mechanism and the water pump.
Still working on the motor. Getting close!
First start up of full motor rebuild.
